Summary: Set up, operate & maintain machining tools and equipment to machine parts, and create assemblies based on drawings and other engineering materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Study drawings and engineering materials in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products efficiently
Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools in order to perform machining operations
Machine parts to specifications using milling machines, hand drills, grinders, sanders, etc.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
Assemble parts and subassemblies to drawings specifications
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs; change out tooling as needed
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter; maintain machines for longevity
Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
