Summary: Set up, operate & maintain machining tools and equipment to machine parts, and create assemblies based on drawings and other engineering materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Study drawings and engineering materials in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products efficiently

  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools in order to perform machining operations

  • Machine parts to specifications using milling machines, hand drills, grinders, sanders, etc.

  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process

  • Assemble parts and subassemblies to drawings specifications

  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs; change out tooling as needed

  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter; maintain machines for longevity

Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
