Summary: Installs pumps, valves, and flow meters on mechanical frames. Installs electrical wiring from control cabinets to pumps, flow meters, and airlines to pneumatic devices according to blueprints and wiring diagrams. Prepares cabinets for wiring and performs a variety of metal fabrication duties. Position based in Fairmont, Minn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Square, align, and assemble bases, mounting brackets, cabinet frames, or equipment structural components, on floor or a frame.
Review drawings provided by engineering and assist others in performing equipment installations according to specifications.
Drill and tap holes in specified locations for mounting pumps and control units using manual drills, CNC mill, or hydraulic punch.
Maintain equipment in safe and good operating condition.
Use a variety of manual and electric tools including saws, band saws, and sanders.
Perform necessary activities to prepare cabinets for wirers.
Attach pumps, flow meters, control panels, electrical conduit, pipe, hose, airline, brackets, braces, and many varied devices with bolts and screws.
Cut, strip, bend, and form steel mounting hardware, conduit, pipe, and tubing used to connect plumbing, power circuits and subassemblies. Connect color-coded wires. May use break machine for bending parts.
Discuss errors in diagrams or production issues with production supervisor to clarify assembly problems.
Assist with final system check out and test, make any alterations or corrections to the system to make ready for shipment.
Enters Production data into NetSuite ERP daily.
Assemblers frequently perform general building maintenance functions such as changing light bulbs, removing snow, etc.
Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Mechanical aptitude required. Post-secondary technical education preferred.
