TERRITORY SALES MANAGER (WESTERN)

Summary:  Implements sales plans and builds relationships in our Western territory — California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. This position will establish leads every other week or more, with travel estimated at 60%. Position based in one of those states. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sell all Kahler products within assigned territory — liquid automation, dry automation, grain and LP automation equipment, as well as traffic control equipment (Streamline)
  • Work to achieve sales targets and goals within territory
  • Work to establish and build relationships with all current and potential customers involving liquid and dry bulk material handling companies within the assigned territory
  • Work with all automation industry partners in an effort to build business through lead sharing and partnership efforts
  • Use consultative selling approach to gain an understanding of what customer is trying to accomplish; Once this knowledge is gained, solve (sell) their concerns using Kahler Automation products and services
  • Assist customer with creation and eventual approval of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) to ensure a mutual understanding of what the system will include and consist of is realized
  • Work to ensure that all current Kahler systems that have been sold in the past are working well
  • Provide direction for the Project Coordinator (PC) within defined territory to ensure all projects are fully understood by Kahler engineering before they are sold
  • Work with Kahler service and phone technicians to trouble shoot customer issues on-site, as needed in an effort to provide highest level of service support possible
  • Assist the technical support team (hardware and software) as necessary with on-site diagnostics
  • Assist in analyzing sales trends, managing sales forecasts and identify adjacent industry opportunities
  • Collaborate with Kahler management on product pricing, promotions, advertising, and new product introductions
  • Provide weekly trip reports to ensure assigned territory has proper Kahler representation
  • Keep Salesforce up to date with activity in the territory

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Two or more years of Project Management or Sales experience required
