Kahler Automation delivers "challenge" to Fairmont STEM expo

Kahler Automation joined many other area businesses and organizations April 7 in exploring the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics at Fairmont, Minn.'s 1st "Putting STEAM Into STEM" Expo.

Kahler's booth featured a new "Control Challenge" display, which gave children and adults the chance to match the precision of our automation controls. After witnessing the Kahler system dispense exactly 10.00 lbs. of liquid into a container, participants could attempt to duplicate that precision with a hand-held, push-button controller.

Over the course of several hundred attempts by expo visitors, Kahler's precision was matched just five times. Those five children won prizes, in addition to the candy that all received as a "thank you" for participating.

The expo, which took place at Five Lakes Elementary school in Fairmont, also featured a special appearance by the ExploraDome from the University of Minnesota's Bell Museum of Natural History. The event was sponsored by the Fairmont Area Schools, District 2752 Science Team, Fairmont Community Education & Recreation, and the Fairmont Rotary Club.
