Summary:  This position involves working with engineers and customers to design electrical projects; responsible for drafting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control diagrams for machines & equipment used in material handling systems and other industrial processes. Full-time position based in Fairmont, MN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consult with Engineering Dept., including electrical designers and project coordinators, to discuss and interpret design concepts, and determine requirements of detailed working drawings for the functions of machines and equipment.

  • Examine electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data, such as configuration of parts, dimensions, and tolerances.

  • Draft detail and assembly drawings of design components, circuitry and printed circuit boards, using computer-assisted equipment or standard drafting techniques and devices.

  • Accurately draft the arrangement of conductors, relays, and other components in a system with electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication devices according to specifications.

  • Accurately draft wiring diagrams of cable connections for the controller and other machine devices according to specifications. Review completed construction drawings for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations

  • Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets which are checked by engineering or a project coordinator. 

Key Position Requirements:

Ability to use and understand the functionality of various CAD software programs including AutoCAD Electrical, AutoDesk Inventor, and AutoDesk Vault; prefer a two-year college or technical school degree or related work experience.
