Kahler helps put the STEAM into STEM

Kahler Automation was proud to be an exhibitor at the 2nd annual "Putting STEAM into STEM" Expo. Numerous area businesses and organizations set up displays at Fairmont Elementary on April 16 to show youth and young adults ways in which science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics impact of all of our lives.

Kahler brought its popular "Control Challenge" stand which, in an extremely simplified way, illustrates how our control systems can automate the flow of bulk materials — and gives children and adults the opportunity to try and match our equipment's precision. (Participants are tasked with filling a pail with exactly 10 pounds of water, using a hand-held controller to turn air-operated valves on and off.)

Our thanks to Kahler Automation employees Max Haake, Bruce Ponto, Martha Myren, Courtney Cutler, and Jessica Pierce for running our booth, and to Fairmont Elementary's science team and Fairmont Community Education & Recreation for sponsoring the event.
