More Than One System: How the Kahler Ecosystem Keeps an Order Moving

An order rarely travels in a straight line.

It may begin in an agronomy platform, pull customer and product information from an ERP, move through a logistics system, and arrive at a Kahler-managed facility. The driver may check in using a phone or kiosk before software and controls work together to load the correct products. Once complete, the transaction must find its way back to the systems responsible for inventory, billing, and reporting.

Behind what appears to be one transaction is an entire technology ecosystem.

Constellation: Creating a Connected View

Constellation brings information from multiple locations and systems into a cloud-based experience. It gives customers broader visibility into their customers, products, orders, transactions, and operations.

As Constellation evolves, it will become the central experience for managing connected operations. The goal is not simply to recreate every existing product in the cloud. It is to simplify workflows, improve visibility, and help customers manage information across their businesses.

TMX: Coordinating the Site Workflow

TMX manages much of the site-level transaction. It organizes customers, products, orders, vehicles, and other records, then connects that information to the processes and equipment at the facility.

It also serves as an important connection point, helping information move between Constellation, dispensing systems, business platforms, and other technologies supporting the operation.

PSX and Controls: Turning Data Into Action

PSX coordinates the dispensing process, including how products are measured, sequenced, and delivered. The controls then operate the physical equipment, including motors, valves, pumps, conveyors, scales, and sensors.

This is where digital information becomes physical action. An order created miles away ultimately determines how equipment operates at the site. Product setup, recipes, units of measure, equipment configuration, and control logic must all remain aligned for that order to be completed accurately.

LOADPASS and Kiosks: Meeting Drivers Where They Are

LOADPASS and kiosks provide different ways for drivers to interact with the facility.

LOADPASS gives drivers a mobile option for checking in, selecting orders, receiving instructions, and moving through the facility. Kiosks provide an on-site experience for drivers who prefer it or for locations that want staff to remain involved in the check-in process.

Customers do not all operate the same way, and drivers do not all want the same experience. Offering both options gives sites the flexibility to balance mobile self-service with employee oversight.

Integrations: Connecting the Rest of the Business

The Kahler ecosystem does not operate in isolation. Customers may use ERP, agronomy, accounting, inventory, logistics, dispatching, and other third-party platforms.

There is rarely one standard integration that works for every customer. A simple operation may exchange information between an ERP and Kahler. A more complex customer may have data moving between three or four systems to complete a single workflow.

One system may own customer and product information. Another may create the order. A logistics platform may assign the driver. Kahler may execute the transaction, while the ERP receives the final information for inventory and billing.

Designing these connections requires more than identifying whether two systems can exchange data. We must understand:

  • Where the workflow begins
  • Which system owns each piece of information
  • What each platform needs to receive
  • When data should move
  • Where changes and completed transactions must return

Without that understanding, it is easy to connect two systems while leaving the customer’s actual workflow disconnected.

Following an Order Through the Ecosystem

A connected workflow could look like this:

  1. Customer and product information originates in an ERP.
  2. An agronomy platform creates the order.
  3. A logistics platform assigns the driver or transport.
  4. The order moves into Constellation and TMX.
  5. The driver checks in through LOADPASS or a kiosk.
  6. TMX coordinates the site workflow.
  7. PSX and the controls execute the dispensing process.
  8. Completion data returns to the appropriate systems for inventory, billing, reporting, and agronomic records.

The exact path will be different for every customer. What matters is that the information remains connected from the original business need through the physical work and final transaction.

That is the value of the Kahler ecosystem. It connects business systems, operational software, drivers, employees, and physical equipment so that one order can keep moving, even when the path behind it is anything but simple.
