Modernizing an Ag Retail Facility for Efficiency and Growth
Featured in the CropLife 2021 Retail Facilities Report, United Farmers Cooperative (UFC) recognized that its nearly 30-year-old agronomy center needed to be upgraded to better serve customers and support future growth. As part of a new fertilizer and chemical facility in Farragut, Iowa, UFC focused on improving both capacity and efficiency.
The new site includes two load-out bays designed to simultaneously and accurately dispense fertilizer, along with bulk chemicals and water. Mini-bulks and hand-add products are handled through a weigh tank, with all measurement devices meeting legal-for-trade requirements. To streamline operations, all systems are fully integrated, allowing orders to move electronically throughout the facility. The result is a modern, scalable operation built to meet today’s demands while remaining ready for future expansion.
