Company Name: Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI)
Location: Hastings, Nebraska
Upgrade: Automated chemical loadout and container fill system with MicroMotion metering
“What used to take 45 to 50 minutes now takes about 15 minutes… and we can load multiple trucks at one time.”
— Rob Evers, Location Manager, Cooperative Producers, Inc.
Key Results
- Reduced load times from 45–50 minutes to ~15 minutes per truck
- Ability to load multiple trucks simultaneously
- Significantly increased throughput during peak operations
- Improved inventory accuracy with container tracking and labeling
The Challenge
With a large number of acres to cover each season, Cooperative Producers, Inc. needed to improve how quickly products could be loaded and delivered to sprayer operators.
The previous process was slow and created delays, with operators sometimes waiting extended periods for loads to be prepared. This limited productivity and reduced efficiency during critical application windows.
To better support field operations, CPI needed a solution that could reduce load times and eliminate bottlenecks in the mixing and loadout process.
Why Kahler Automation
CPI partnered with Kahler Automation to implement a system designed to increase speed, improve accuracy, and support higher throughput.
The goal was to create a more efficient operation that could keep up with demand while ensuring precise product handling and inventory tracking.
The Results
With the Kahler Automation system in place, CPI has dramatically improved both speed and productivity.
Load times have been reduced from 45–50 minutes per truck to approximately 15 minutes, allowing the team to move product much faster. In addition, the system enables multiple trucks to be loaded at the same time, significantly increasing throughput.
Tasks that previously took hours — such as loading several trucks — can now be completed in a fraction of the time, helping the operation keep pace during peak seasons.
These improvements ensure that sprayer operators spend less time waiting and more time in the field.
Accuracy and Inventory Control
The new system has also improved inventory accuracy and visibility.
With MicroMotion sensors and an automated container fill system, CPI can track exactly what is in each container. The system also generates labels for each load, providing clear documentation and improving traceability.
This level of accuracy helps ensure better inventory management and more consistent product handling.
