Kahler Automation Congratulates Swift, Beek On Retirements

JANUARY 13, 2022 — Ag retail facility automation stalwarts EJ Beek and Steve Swift have announced plans to retire after 30-year careers with Kahler Automation, which itself marked its 30th anniversary in 2021.

Steve Swift is retiring as the leader for corporate sales. Steve joined Kahler Automation as one of its earliest employees, immediately applying a customer-focused sales approach gained through sales management training and experience growing up in the Swift family’s grain dryer business. During his time with Kahler Steve shaped the ag retail industry in various ways, serving as Product Manager and Sales Manager, among other roles.

EJ Beek is retiring as the sales representative for Kahler Automation’s Northern territory. Like Swift, EJ came to the Kahler team in the early 1990s — he was selling equipment to the ag retail industry and recognized a need for more efficient facility controls. EJ approached Kahler to automate a liquid facility at Madelia, Minn., and word of the successful results spread among neighboring retailers. As business grew across North America EJ served at various times as Sales Manager and independent sales representative.

Wayne Kahler, founder and Chairman of the Board of Kahler Automation, commended his longtime business partners on their service to the company and the industry as a whole.

“The Kahler Automation team in those very early years was EJ with a vision of what the ag retail industry needed, Steve with sales and marketing skills, and some incredibly inventive people engineering the technical solutions,” Wayne said. “With this team we were able to provide many solutions improving accuracy and speed to delivering products to the ag industry.”

Kahler Automation is grateful to Steve and EJ for their considerable contributions to the ag retail industry and their roles in helping customers achieve greater speed, accuracy, and documentation of fertilizer and chemical sales.

Kahler Automation designs control systems for dry and liquid material handling, grain flow and truck traffic control, and a wide variety of industrial innovations and OEM partnerships. Headquartered in Fairmont, Minn., Kahler has been streamlining the operation of bulk material handling facilities across the United States, Canada, and around the world for 30 years.
