Over 95% of the California rice production takes place in the Sacramento Valley. Glenn County Farm Supply in Artois, Calif., delivers liquid and dry fertilizer blends to their customers in rice production. After the fields are laser leveled, liquid fertilizer is then rolled into the field in preparation for spring planting. Water is run into the field at a depth of 2-5” to set the stage for aerial seeding. From there dry fertilizer is applied. California grows the bulk of U.S. medium and short grain rice.
