Q: How does Kahler Automation help you achieve your business goals?
"Kahler Automation has really helped us achieve our goals by allowing us to ensure accuracy with MicroMotion meters, ensure weights through our weigh pots. It has helped us achieve efficiency by loading trucks faster. The ease of loading trucks … has really from top to bottom helped us achieve a different set of goals than we had before."
Q: Why did you get Kahler Automation involved in this project?
"Kahler Automation is in the ag industry. They understand what we need from the industry standards (and) how ag has changed in the last 10 years. That's why we got involved with Kahler Automation."
Q: How has productivity improved with your Kahler system?
"Productivity has improved immensely, from the efficiency of loading our trucks and taking to the field to tender our sprayers or custom application equipment. It has improved the customer interaction that we have by bringing solutions to our growers to help them on their own operation. It just has grown from the services that we provide, and it's all started here."
Q: How has accuracy with inventory improved with Kahler?
"Accuracy has improved immensely with the help of our MicroMotion meters. We know that we are dispensing exactly what it said is dispensed and we go through a vigorous certification process yearly to ensure that. It brings assurance to the grower that they got exactly what they paid for."
Q: How has billing been streamlined with Kahler?
"We've streamlined a lot of our products. It has allowed us to clean up accounting. It gives us the ability to have real-time billing through the API. And it really takes the weight off of our billing division … when that end-of-month billing is due."
Q: How does Kahler Automation training and support help your team?
"We can do training here or with the other branches of Sunrise Cooperative. We can do training with them here in Ohio. We can go to Minnesota. We can do it virtually. Wherever we want to meet up. That part has been nice. We don't just have to hop on a plane; that they'll come to us."
Q: What should someone considering a facility upgrade know about your experience with Kahler?
"If you have a certain end-product that you have in mind, don't be afraid to ask questions. Kahler's pretty much a tailor-made system so if you think it can be had, ask the question. "
