Kahler Automation mourns passing of Dennis Turner

Dennis Turner, 1950-2018

Longtime Kahler Automation Special Projects Coordinator Dennis Turner, a cornerstone of the company’s success and spirit of innovation, passed away Dec. 31, 2018 in Fairmont, Minn., following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Dennis Turner,” said CEO Dave Cone. “It is hard to capture in words what Dennis meant to all of us at Kahler Automation, let alone the impact he had on our business.

“He was a man of many talents which he employed regularly, often taking on the most difficult challenges within any project or product. Dennis truly enjoyed the research and data mining required to allow him to puzzle together a possible solution or remedy. It’s safe to say that we would not be where we are today if Dennis had not joined the Kahler team nearly 30 years ago.

“He will be sorely missed by the entire Kahler Automation family. Our sympathy and condolences to the Turner family.”

Dennis retired in 2017 after a 25-year career with Kahler Automation, although he continued to provide assistance on projects from his home machine shop. In addition to his engineering creativity Dennis brought to Kahler a wonderful sense of humor, and he delighted in sharing his love of technology with youth at area STEM and career events.

Memorial service is 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 4, at Immanuel Lutheran and one hour prior to the memorial service. Dennis’ obituary can be read at Lakeview Funeral Home website.
